I hate to disappoint and take away the entertainment of it all but I am straight, not gay. It’s disheartening to know such “news” on someone’s personal life can be portrayed as fact with no viable source. This, to me, is an opportunity to expose our vulnerability to lies and manipulation through unprofessional and irresponsible news outlets, in which people consider TRUTH. Further, someone’s sexual orientation should NEVER be big news, as it delivers a troubling message to children that they can’t be themselves without fear of judgment. Race, creed, and sexual persuasion should not just be tolerated but understood and accepted. It’s extremely disappointing that this topic would be used with the intention of being hurtful. We are near 2010….2010!! Yet race, sex and religion still play a major role in a hate driven society. For the love of the future and humanity….let’s wake up.

Well tonight was my first Senate meeting as a Senator. But it was special for lots of other reasons. Instead of holding our meeting in our normal place, we moved to Mrak Hall, where most of our administrators, including our chancellor, have their offices, We (as the senate body) went to show our strong representation because as of today, the UC Regents voted to PASS a fee increase of 32%. This is an OUTRAGE. There was a protest in Berkeley yesterday and today several hundred kids at Davis went to Mrak Hall. As they went to close the building at 5 pm about 50 students stayed inside. From this point, the police were called in--from Winters, Woodland, Davis, West Sacramento and the Yolo County Sheriffs/Swat Team. Let's put it this way, there were too many police for what was going on. They arrested each and every person in the building and brought all 52 of them out of the building one by one. At the same time the senate passed a resolution against Mark Yudof (president of the UC) and the UC Regents saying that we do not support them. Later, after all people were taken out of the building, I was sworn in as Senator Rombi on the steps of Mrak Hall. Something that has never been done before.

Why do I get so excited before my classes start, and now, week 7 into the quarter, do I shutter at reading another article? Pondering on this, rather than the three essays I have due within the next five days, I have come up with a few things. 1-I am burnt out. This isn't on my life in general, but just on school work. I have read countless articles, and yes it is great to learn about the world and all, but if they do not get discussed in class and are only there for the purpose of backing up that day's topic, please take it out and title it as "optional." Excuse me prof, but you seem to forget that we have other classes too. 2-The class is nothing what I expected it to be. It gives a happy little description in the class booklet and makes me think, hey this would be perfect for me. Wrong. Sociology of Pop Culture sounds like it would be right up my alley, but instead it's about McDonaldization and the feminine and racial traits in Kill Bill. Really? That's not what I signed up for.
Now this looks like just a bunch of complaining, but it is quite the opposite. I want to learn, I want to write essays, I want to read. I would just like it to be more related to the class or for once have the class description be explicit. Aren't we paying the school enough? And if the 32% fee increase goes through from the UC Regents there will be hell to pay. Why should we take money away from those trying to learn? Let's just take it away from the crap we don't need. Like supplying a house and car for our chancellor. So you run the school, but who else gets that kind of treatment?
Please people, let's really think about this college system. Yes, I am now a senator, but when it comes to things like this, only that title puts me slightly above every other student. I encourage everyone to fight for what you believe in and never stop fighting.

Here is what I will be doing:

The Senate oversees budgets, initiates new projects, and monitors AS activities and services. The Senate consists of twelve elected members of the student body who strive to represent your voice in student government. The Senate also authors legislation to conduct ASUCD business and represent student opinions.

The Senate consists of twenty two elected and ex officio members, but only the twelve Senators have the ability to vote. The ASUCD Vice President may only cast a vote to break a tie.

Beyonce has finally said something about Ye's outburst. As always, she speaks well.

I think B always has poise and she is a true star. But I see where Kanye was coming from-from a video standpoint Beyonce's video was way better than Taylor's, but maybe he should have waited a little longer than the first award. I had to watch a documentary for my Technocultural Studies class called Scratch. It was about DJ's from a few years ago, back to the very guys who started it. It was really great and if you're interested you should give it the time to watch. But I also think that most of us have no idea how amazing and what skill it takes to do this. I ate at Pasta? about a week ago and the DJ came in and showed my sister and I how to do the very basics of scratching and it was really cool. If you didn't know I'm doing the designing along with project runway, but I have a lot more time and a lot less money. I am almost finished with the first challenge-the red carpet look.

Then comes the bathing suit challenge. I've got the sketch-I just need to do the work. Here's a little sneak-peek spoiler of what it will sort of look like.

Now onto last night's episode. It was the client challenge, and the designers were very lucky. All they had to do was design something for their models, but I felt like most of them missed their mark. Sure some of the models were indecisive but as a designer you have got to make them look good if they were really supposed to impress people.

Here we have Althea's look-the winner. I love the concept of this but it looks pretty sloppy to me. It looks like she did more work by making three pieces but for one thing, that skirt looks a tad short. And that top! I agree with the boys at ProjectRungay, what the heck is going on with her boobs?! Heidi made such a big deal about Epperson but she didn't say one word about this. I'm looooving that jacket though, I ain't mad at that. Hopefully my client doesn't give me too many problems :] Here were my top 2:

And let's just give it up for Logan, because he's handsome. Ok maybe he looks a little high here but I couldn't find one of the better ones from on the runway last night but you get my point.

Week left. This is crazy. I've been through an entire year of college. I can't tell you what a ride it has been. I would love to thank everyone that has made such a huge impact in my life this year because it was not at all what I would expect. I am going to miss everyone so much this summer, but I can't wait to go home to the people that I have missed for the past nine months. I am thankful for those who have entered my life and for not letting anyone go. And as the year comes to an end I am left with the biggest dilemma of my life. Do I take one of the best opportunities offered to me, or do I continue what I am doing now and live up to the great potential I have? Nonetheless, I have had a year full of ups and downs and in the end, I don't regret a thing. I love all my friends and I have never been so thankful. I have learned waay more than I imagined and I hope I have made some sort of impact on everyone this year. Way to go class of '12 :]

First Britney Spears Concert: PRICELESS

Oh my gosh what an experience! I wish I could go back and do it all again, but that is what I have taken a million pictures and videos for. If you have the opportunity to go this concert, go. Yeah so Britney lipsings but who cares, do many pop stars sing at their concerts? Her dancing was amazing and the set/performance was phenomenal. And The Pussycat Dolls were amazing too! Nicole was lookin' fiiine as usual and the girls had a great performance. I can't remember the set list for the life of me but I hope you enjoy the pics/vids as much as I do! Click em to enlarge.

Alright, now to the Legendary Miss Britney Spears. Wow what a show, I still can't believe it. So it starts off with all of these circus acts from a girl doing crazy backflips to a hula-hooper and more. It was really cool how they were able to use both sides of the stage. So the screen comes on with a video and it is no other than Perez Hilton. It almost didn't look like him. From there Britney opened up with Circus. Check it out.

She had an outfit change for pretty much every single song, but I will say she looked amazing. I can't believe how many shows she is doing, then off to Europe, then possibly back here? -Which if so, I will be in attendance AGAIN.
This one was my favorite outfit, I wish she kept it on for longer!The stage always looked so awesome. They would blow smoke, fire, flashing lights, and the screen above it would change along with every song.
She did all my favorite songs, so I was super excited about that. I will also say they used the stage very well with her performace as well. It was evenly distributed so no one side had a particular advantage. Check out "Piece of Me" below.

Gosh I love that girl. She looked like she had fun the whole time. I also loved that there was a stripper pole for numerous songs. Go giiiirl! haha
I also really liked this outfit..just can't remember which song this was. Oh Brit, I'm so proud of you. Check out "If You Seek Amy" and a few more pics.

So then Britney went into a Indian-like remix of "Me Against the Music." When I first saw this outfit on her blog I didn't like it at all but she looks great!
She said hey to the crowd for about 20 seconds-nothing crazy like I was hoping for. She asked how we were doing and she said she was slowing it down. The next song was "Everytime" a definite oldie but the dancers and their umbrellas were amazing and Brit looked very sweet up on her umbrella ella ella aaa aaa.So then Britney took a break and had another outfit change while the screen came down and showed a video for a cover of "Sweet Dreams." It was very raw, very sexual, very crazy, very good. Hye Young and I like to call it "SO METAL!" as Tim would say.

And the show goes on..

Well the show was almost over and time for the encore. She did a siiiick remix of "Baby One More Time" and then, of course, "Womanizer." Check out below.

I have a lot to look forward to, beside that one thing, there is a lot coming up. In fact, this Saturday, Hye Young and I are going to see the Legendary Miss Britney Spears.She is performing at the ARCO Arena in Sacramento with The Pussycat Dolls. I am SO excited. My first Brit concert!! I just hope I don't spend all of my money on her merch.

Then the following week on that Tuesday I am going to see The Pack with Dolla, Mistah Fab, Dream Team, Mr. Sef, Young Bob, Leone, and Cassanov. I'm not the biggest fans of those guys but that is going to be fun. The that Saturday is the UC Davis 100th annual Picnic Day. BUT not only that, Kristina is flying up to see me!!! Thursday -> Sunday. I can't wait to spend time with her and I need it more than ever. We are gonna have so much fun together.After all of that craziness, the following Tuesday I have the Bloc Party concert.

Then keep going, and it's the E-40 concert at Theta Xi. With a special guest. Rumors are it's Kid Cudi. I will FLIP out if Cudi is there. No joke. But that is really gonna be crazy because it's gonna be such a small thing. 40 water's back !
This is gonna be fun. I don't know how I'm gonna do it all with school and work on top of it. At least I have things that will make me happy and keep my mind off of things.
